iPhone 8 Creating Worldwide Shortage of DRAM & NAND chips

Component orders for the iPhone 8 are creating a worldwide shortage of DRAM and NAND chips, with competitors struggling to secure their own supplies, says a report.

Some competitors are placing orders well before they need the chips, others are paying premiums to ensure a supply and - in the worst of cases - may even be forced to reduce the specs of their phones if they are unable to buy the chips they need ...

Reuters reports that even large companies like LG are being forced to act. 'After the supply shortages emerged we brought forward our procurement decisions ... to ensure a stable supply, smartphone and personal computer maker LG said in a statement, adding it had pushed up quarterly purchase decisions by about a month.

Dortmund Invite Offers As Chelsea, Liverpool And Man City Target Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has invited interested clubs to make a formal offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park with the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City all credited with an interest in signing the prolific attacker.

The Bundesliga side remain hopeful of holding on to their star forward, but Watzke will consider realistic offers.

"We will listen to it when a club is willing to show its appreciation for Aubameyang in a financial way as well," Watzke told Bild.
